According to the New York Post, U.S. President Donald Trump stated on Friday that he plans to sue the BBC over its investigative documentary series "Panorama," which edited his speech from January 6, 2021.

Trump told reporters aboard Air Force One on Friday night, "We may sue them sometime next week for amounts between $1 billion and $5 billion." He added that he plans to discuss the matter with British Prime Minister Keir Starmer this weekend.

A BBC spokesperson said on Thursday, "BBC lawyers have responded to a letter received on Sunday from President Trump's legal team. BBC Chairman Samir Shah also sent a private letter to the White House, clearly expressing that both he and the BBC deeply regret the editing of President Trump's speech on January 6, 2021."
