The company is also backed by some of the most reputable investors in the space such as DCG.co (which is backed by CIBC, MasterCard, etc), Boost.vc (backed by Tim Draper, early investor in Hotmail, Skype and Tesla), FundersClub (early investors in Coinbase), etc. He also has a strong interest and international experience in robotics and mechatronic systems. Prior to 2013, Sunny spent nearly 8 years doing sales and international business development in the robotics and mechatronics industry. His clients included Stanford, University of Alberta, Georgia Tech, Universidad de los Andes Colombia, Indian Institute of Technology, etc. Sunny is an advocate for and founder of the Canadian Cannabis Club in Toronto. He looks forward to leveraging his extensive international business development experience and applying it towards the new and emerging Canadian Cannabis Industry.
Ru Chiang
Ru Chiang is the CTO of Candy Shop. He began his career directly in the cryptocurrency industry, and has created solutions for various areas, including cryptocurrency exchanges, custodians, and web3 native applications. He oversaw the development of the custody product at Hex Trust, a licensed Hong Kong digital asset custodian, and helped to build the exchange/internal custody product at Crypto.com. He was also a participant of the Hong Kong Science and Technology Park incubation program, where he developed a platform for sharing community goods to reduce food waste. Before founding Candy Shop, he headed a team that built an NFT fractionalization product, which won first place in the Serum and Wormhole hackathon.
Rafael Melo
Rafael Melo is the Co-Founder and Chief Financial Officer of Crypto.com. He has 15 years of experience in finance and a deep understanding of risk, compliance, and the Mobile Payments ecosystem in Asia. As CFO at ASX-listed Ensogo, he led fundraising efforts, securing strategic investment from VIPSHOP (NYSE:VIPS) and raising over A$50m from blue chip institutions such as Fidelity, Goldman Sachs, and BlackRock.

Matthew Chan is the Chief Technology Officer of Crypto.com. He brings with him over 15 years' experience as an executive in IT strategy and cybersecurity. He was formerly the CTO of a multinational enterprise software company focused on monitoring, cybersecurity, and compliance, and led the organization to win multiple back-to-back industry awards. Additionally, he was the CIO of a multi-strategy asset management company regulated by the HK SFC. He has experience advising international clients, including Baker McKenzie, RBS, Credit Suisse, and Honda.

Aya Miyaguchi is the Executive Director of the Ethereum Foundation and was previously in charge of operations in Japan for the Kraken.
