Mario Gomez Lozada is Co-Founder of PowerTrade, Founder of Liquid.com, Former CEO, CPO of Liquid.com. Finance over 20 yrs of experience, ex Merrill Lynch, Credit Suisse CTO. Mario graduated with honors with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Computer Science from The University of Kansas and a Masters Degree in Computer Science also from the University of Kansas. While obtaining his Masters degree, Mario focused on Software Engineering, Information Retrieval and Operating Systems. His Masters thesis focused on design and implementation of efficient search engine technologies for the then nascent Internet. He earned his Masters Degree with Distinction for the work done on search engines optimization. Mario started his career in the mid 1990’s in the Internet industry. He developed early search engine technology based on his Computer Science Masters Thesis. Mario moved to Tokyo and joined a technology company as a Senior Software Engineer. He focused on O-O frameworks for software development. Frameworks developed by his team were later used to develop financial systems for a number of major banks. In the late 1990’s, Mario joined Merrill Lynch (ML) as a software engineer in the Fixed Income (FICC) Technology department. He spent the next 13 years of his career at ML, where he developed cutting-edge software for Sales and Trading systems. Mario was also actively involved in early electronic trading initiatives and became the regional head of FICC Technology in the mid 2000’s, responsible for all aspects of IT pertaining to the FICC business. He gained considerable experience in people and business management during his 13 years at Merrill Lynch. Post Merrill Lynch, Mario joined Credit Suisse as Japan CIO and Head of Fixed Income IT Asia. While at CS, Mario oversaw projects related to the expansion of the FICC business in Asia. He was also responsible for the FICC Global Development Center in Singapore. As the Japan CIO he gained considerable experience in dealing with local regulators and in areas of IT Risk and Control. Mario is a serial entrepreneur, having founded three startup's in the past one year.
