Fraser Brown

Co-Founder & CTO at Cubist

Details

Fraser Brown is the Co-Founder and CTO at Cubist. He is also an Assistant Professor at Carnegie Mellon University's School of Computer Science (Software and Societal Systems Department). His research focuses on security and program correctness, from verifying parts of production systems to automatically finding exploitable bugs in real codebases. For example, his tools have found many zero-day bountied bugs and CVEs in the popular Chrome and Firefox browsers. Fraser also works on compilation. In collaboration with CEO Riad and others, he developed the CirC compiler for cryptographic proof systems. He received his BA in English and MS and PhD in Computer Science from Stanford, where he was supported by an NSF Graduate Research Fellowship.

Riad Wahby

Riad Wahby is the Co-Founder and CEO of Cubist. Previously, he was a cryptographic researcher at Algorand and spent a decade as an analog and mixed-signal integrated circuit designer at Silicon Labs. He received his SB and MEng in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science from MIT and his PhD in Computer Science from Stanford, where he was supported by a Ripple Fellowship.

Deian Stefan

Deian Stefan is the Co-Founder and Chief Scientist at Cubist. He is also an Associate Professor of Computer Science and Engineering at UC San Diego, where he co-leads the Security and Programming Systems groups. His research focuses on the intersection of security and programming languages. He is particularly interested in constructing secure systems that are deployed in production. He was a co-founder of Intrinsic, a runtime security startup which was acquired by VMware in 2019.

Gary is the Managing Partner at Momentum Capital. Gary is a Silicon Valley-based investor, a serial entrepreneur, a Stanford-affiliated researcher, and a true believer in Web3. Gary has over six years of experience in blockchain technology and is currently focusing on scaling, DID, and liquidity solutions. Gary finished his Ph.D. and postdoc research at Stanford University before transitioning into the industry.

Arun Devabhaktuni is a professional with a background in systems biology, physics, and biology. He is currently a Lead Researcher at Mirana Ventures and an Angel Investor at Valhalla Capital. He has also served as the Chief Technical Officer and Co-Founder of ZenMaid Software. Arun has received a PhD in Systems Biology from Stanford University School of Medicine and a BS in Physics and Biology from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.

Guillermo Angeris

Guillermo is a Stanford lifer (BS, MS, and PhD in Electrical Engineering). He spends most of his work time in a dark corner of a room, figuring out random math problems for fun. He also loves to work with teams to model many of the weird (and fascinating) incentives in DeFi and beyond.
